Good or Bad?
Not many of us can happily succumb to an all-lettuce diet to lose the weight that we so lavishly gained during the cold winter months. So when we start this journey to drop a few lbs, typically we’re directed to stay clear of carbs, sugar, and fruit. However, fruit might not be all that bad, and could in fact help you slim down. Fruits have vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber, and prebiotics – all of which are good for you. One study, conducted over a span of 24 years with 130,000 adults, found that eating fruit improved weight loss over the long haul. Why? Fruit helps keep us full and can take the place of the real culprit… sweets with added sugar. It also has natural sugar and other key nutrients, whereas table sugar has 0 nutrients. But hold your fruit-citement, we’re not saying you can consume unlimited amounts of fruit. Consumption should be strategic and correlated to how much fuel you need. Orange you glad we chatted about this? Hungry for fruit? Aramark and The FruitGuys have you covered.
Productivity Check
Less is More
Getting more done by working less – seems like mission impossible, right?! Well, that’s exactly what Alex Soojung-Kim Pang, a Stanford scholar and author of Rest: Why You Get More Done When You Work Less advocates! According to his research, productivity per hour declines significantly once a person reaches 50+ hours a week. Pang advocates the Law of Least Effort, which focuses on acceptance, accountability, and detachment. So let’s all close those laptops at a normal hour today, get some rest, and enjoy the weekend. Come Monday – Work Hard. Snack Hard.
